We have 3 delegates selected to attend Terra Madre in Torino, Italy in October:
Irene Jade, Noel Ramos, and Diane Campion will be attending Terra Madre to represent the Southeast. Irene Jade is our Director of Garden Projects, both school and community, and Noel Ramos from our Advisory Board--Director of Ark of Taste. Noel is also responsible for boarding all the Ark of Taste selections from South Florida. Diane Campion is the Leader of Slow Food Glades to Coast.
Scott Lewis, our Director of Education, was 1 of 5 delegates from the Southeast, selected to attend the Slow Food International Congress--where Slow Food leaders from the over 150 countries with Slow Food convivia--will convene on the last 2 days of Terra Madre & Salone del Gusto. He will be attending all of the conferences.
This is a wonderful honor for our Slow Food convivium to have such dedicated board members traveling to Italy to gather and bring back adventures and ideas to share with all of us. They will represent us well.
Salone del Gusto and Terra Madre returns in October this year. A sneak peek at the event that defines the Slow Food movement…
In 2012, the international Salone del Gusto and Terra Madre world meeting will be held together as a unified event for the first time, displaying the extraordinary diversity of food from all continents and uniting small-scale farmers and artisans from the north and south of the world who follow the principles of good, clean and fair production – food that is defined not only by excellent taste, but also environmental sustainability and social justice.
