  • keynote presentation by nationally recognized lecturer, garden historian, and ethnobotanist John Forti - a.k.a. the Heirloom Gardener. John is Curator of Historic Landscapes at Strawberry Banke Museum in Portsmouth, NH where he has created numerous award-winning gardens and educational programs.
  • panel discussions on preserving food traditions across cultures
  • children's activities including storytelling and a planting tableturkey petting
  • walks in the Pine Jog Elementary School Hydroponic Garden
  • exhibitors showing tropical and rare fruits, goats, and heritage poultry
  • come to the table communal lunch

mango tastingSlow Food Glades to Coast is taking a tour of the Erickson Tropical Fruit Farm Tour on Sunday, August 5. This will include a tour of the farm, tasting of different mangoes -- followed by lunch and an opportunity to purchase mangoes and mango trees directly from the farm. It is very important to bring your walking shoes.

Space is limited, so sign up early. A picnic lunch & plenty of beverages will be provided.


$20 for non-members

$16 for members

Cost includes tour as well as ample lunch and drinks.

We are partnering with Brown Distributing to celebrate American Craft Beer Week! Guests can sample from a handful of America’s best craft breweries including: Cigar City, Left Hand and Oscar Blues along with some food and cheese pairing stations while enjoying live music by the 18 Wheelers. When the sun sets, grab your favorite beer and join us for a screening of the documentary, Beer Culture. All proceeds will benefit our local chapter of Slow Foods.

Slow Saturday at the Green Market

with Chef Chris Miracola of Max's Harvest

Chef Chris will make Max's Harvest's famous fish tacos and two salsas using green market ingredients. Come by our booth for a sample and recipes. While you are there learn about Slow Food and become a member. Help our small local producers, build our community with educational and garden projects, and get involved.
